What happened to this option in Vista? I do not have this option listed in the control panel and have not been able to find it searching the help.
Thanks, Norm

Add/Remove Hardware
Should have been Add/Remove Software, I would like to uninstall graphic drivers for the Nvidia GeForce 5500, as installing the Vista drivers over the old ones causes the old Blue Screen of death and then Vista boots into the safe mode option.

But you can still go through Device Manager and delete drivers from there - and there is an Add Hardware still in the Control Panel. The reason you can't "remove hardware" in Windows is because you literally can't - however the drivers can be taken off which are run on Windows, then when your machine is turned off, you can pull out what you don't want :o)

It's in there somewhere. Not on Vista ATM, so can't say for certain where, but there is an option for Programs somewhere.

Yes, there is an option for Installed programs, but the Nvidia software is not listed there. Probably because they are drivers rather than a program.

I believe the option you want is Control Panel>Programs.

Norm, go to the device manager, and then to the video card. Click on properties, and then on uninstall. After you've uninstalled, shut down the machine and take out the card, replace it with the new one and reboot.
After that, you may again have to go into device manager and install the drivers.

Hi Nancy,
I tried that but Vista would not let me uninstall the video board, saying that it was needed by the system.
I did get it working though by reinstalling Vista.

Sheesh! Since when does Vista know more than we do about our own systems?
